The Old Highway 80 Bridge at Vicksburg was built in 1930 after congress passed special legislation  in 1926, giving the Vicksburg Bridge and Terminal Company permission to build the bridge.  Warren County purchased the Bridge in 1947.  The bridge has been closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic since 1998, but is still used by the Kansas City Southern Railroad. Special events are held on the Bridge by special request, i.e. : Over The River Run, Bricks and Spokes, Life and other fun run/walks and bicycle crossings.
Each Commissioner is appointed by each of the Warren County Supervisors to a 5 year term.
